How do I apply to Adelphi University?

There are three easy ways to apply:

  • If you are interested in applying for the MS in Communication Disorders: Speech-Language Pathology, please submit the CSDCAS application.
  • If you are interested in applying for the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, the PsyD in School Psychology, or the Respecialization in Clinical Psychology, please submit the PSYCAS application.
  • If you are interested in applying for the Ph.D. in Speech-Language Sciences and Disorders, please refer to the department website for specific instructions.

Adult (College of Professional and Continuing Studies)

Common Application

Prospective first-year and transfer students may submit the Common Application instead of Adelphi’s online application.

Scholarships and Grants

Adelphi will work with you to ensure you receive the most aid and scholarship consideration possible.

Scholarships and grants are types of aid that do not have to be repaid. They may take the form of Adelphi University scholarships or need-based grants, federal or state grants, or outside scholarships. Application deadlines may apply to certain types of aid.

Adelphi scholarships are renewable each year for students who meet certain performance criteria. Adelphi needs-based grants are renewable for students who meet the FAFSA filing priority deadline of January 1 each year and who continue to demonstrate financial need.

Be sure to refer to the specific terms and conditions for each award.

  • Adelphi University’s Institutional Awards

Eligible students are automatically considered for most Adelphi scholarships upon acceptance. Our grants are awarded to students based on financial need as determined by filing the FAFSA and other defined criteria. Except where noted, no additional application is required.

You must complete the FAFSA to be considered for federal and state grants. For New York State scholarships and grants, residents must take additional application steps.

  • New York Noyce STEAM Pipeline Program

Through scholarship support, the New York Noyce STEAM Pipeline Program at Adelphi/NSF Robert Noyce Program is designed to encourage individuals with a background in science and/or trained in STEM fields to consider a teaching career in science education. Students will receive $26,000 of tuition support for the 13-month graduate program.

FAQs about

Ans.: All academic records should be sent directly to our office by your previous school. If you wish to submit transcripts on behalf of your previous institution, they must be official and bear the school’s stamp or seal.

Ans.: While Adelphi offers rolling admissions, the recommended application deadlines are:

  • November 1 (spring applicants) 
  • April 1 (fall applicants) for first-year freshmen and transfer students.

Individual graduate programs may have unique application deadlines and requirements. Review graduate application requirements and deadlines by program.

Ans.: International students whose native language is not English may submit the TOEFL or IELTS instead of SAT or ACT results. However, if you are interested in scholarship review, the Office of International Admissions recommends that you submit official SAT or ACT results.

Ans.: Undergraduate international students are eligible for merit, talent and athletic scholarship consideration. Portfolio reviews and auditions are required for students interested in talent awards.

Ans.: They review all undergraduate applicants for scholarship recommendation once a complete application is submitted. There is no separate scholarship application. You will be notified whether you have received a scholarship within three weeks after receiving your acceptance letter.

Ans.: Currently, more than 604 international students from 57 countries attend Adelphi University. Our entire population of full-time undergraduate and graduate students totals nearly 8,000.

Ans.: The Robert B. Willumstad School of Business, Derner School of Psychology and the College of Professional and Continuing Studies graduate programs will consider select three-year degrees from India.

All other programs require four years of study equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree as determined by the Office of International Admissions.
