Are you an aspirant of OAU Ile-Ife? OAU cut-off mark for admission is one of the first things you should know about Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) before applying for the Post UTME Form.

OAU is one of Nigeria’s largest tertiary institutions, and it strives to uphold a high level. It is often said that if you cannot improve on the existing standard, keep the standard the way you found it.

Therefore, OAU would never opt to lower their cutoff mark below their minimum cutoff mark.

Hence, if you an aspirant of OAU and you scored 200 and above, then you are in safe hands

There are certain criteria to be observed by students before being admitted to study in any of the courses in any university. One of these which include meeting the required cut-off mark for each school as well as the courses itself.

It is very easy to obtain admission if one has met the required cut-off mark for admission into a particular course.

About The Obafemi Awolowo University

Architectural planning of the University was led by Arieh Sharon with a team that later included his son, Eldar Sharon, and Augustine Akhuemokhan Egbor of Lagos.

The initial architectural plan of the land was three communities. A central campus with a high density and centralization hosting the academic and administrative structures, the staff quarters with residential structures dispersed for privacy needs, and students residential halls.

The road network within the university is numbered, the main entrance to the university is the 2.5 km Road One which provides visibility to two rocky hills and the main core.

The core is a quadrangle consisting of the university’s public structures: Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library, Secretariat, University Bookshop, Oduduwa Hall, and the Faculties of Arts, Education, Law, Administration and Social Sciences.

The first structure completed in January 1967 are three blocks of four floors each named the Humanities building, these blocks have interconnected walkways to the other faculties within the quad.

These structures upon completion could be seen as inverted pyramids or huge boats but the design was chosen due to consideration given to the humid tropical climate so that each floor provides protection to the one below.

There are pedestrians walkways and pergolas around the campus providing movement within offices around the quadrangle, there are also piazzas, gardens and terraces.

The quad is enclosed on each side by roads and beyond the roads are other faculty buildings.

The Inner road on the southern end (road two) or front of the main core provides access to the student union building.

Along road two are the Computer Science building, and the Faculties of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

The Outer road at the northwestern end of the quad, (Road 5) provides access to the Modern Languages building and the African traditional designed structure housing the African Studies department, a museum and an exhibition hall.

What Does Cut off Mark Really Mean?

I believe you want to know what cut-off mark means?, don’t worry, I will explain in a way you will understand.

A cut-off mark simply means a certain mark which candidates are expected not to score below if they want to be admitted for the particular year in view.

For example, if OAU sets its JAMB cut off mark as 280, then any student who scores below 280 should automatically start thinking of other options.

Generally, in cut-off marks, you are expected to score above or get the exact cut-off mark but you will agree with me that it is risky hanging on a knife’s edge.

OAU JAMB Fixed Cut-off Mark 2025/2024

We are using this medium to formally inform all aspirants of Obafemi  Awolowo University that the jamb cut-off mark for all courses is 180.

You might ask: “this year I choose OAU as my choice of institution and I scored 180 in jamb but I wasn’t given admission”

180 jamb score can’t guarantee you admission into Obafemi  Awolowo University (OAU), you need to take their screening exams and also need to beat the departmental cut-off mark for the course you want to study.

Important Information

There are certain factors that come into play or are looked into by the management of Obafemi Awolowo University when the institution wants to consider an applicant for admission.

Please note that meeting the cut-off mark is not enough. The institution will still have to check your O-level grades. If you have As you will get 6 marks, B will give you 4 and C will give 3.

If you are from Osun state then you will be favored in the institution catchment policy.
