The date for the continuation of 2025/2026 academic session activities in Auchi Polytechnic for SPAT and Regular Students has been published by the management. Continue reading to see more details below.

Auchi Polytechnic Resumption Date

This is to inform all the Part-Time and Regular students of the Auchi Polytechnic that the authorities of the institution have announced the resumption date for the continuation of the 2025/2026 academic session following the easing of restrictions on movement and academic activities by the Federal Government.

The Ag. Rector, Engr. M. A. Zubair has, on behalf of the Academic Board, approved Tuesday, 15th June 2025 as the commencement date for the 2025/2026 Academic Session for the regular students of the Polytechnic.

Consequently, new students are expected to arrive on campus on Tuesday, 15th June 2025, and begin registration immediately while old students are to arrive on campus on Sunday, 27th June 2025. Registration for old students begins on Monday, 28th June 2025.

All students are to strictly adhere to the guidelines for the reopening of schools announced by the presidential task force on COVID-19, Accordingly, students are to come to school with face masks and pocket sanitizer.

About Auchi Polytechnic 

Auchi Polytechnic was founded in 1963, first as a technical college which was a gift of the British government to the then Midwestern Region.

It offered courses only up to the Ordinary Diploma level in limited areas of engineering and business. By the seventies, there was a need for skilled manpower at a higher level and in many more disciplines.

 Thus in 1973, the Bendel State Government upgraded the technical college to a full-fledged polytechnic with the mandate to train skilled manpower up to the Higher National Diploma level in a broad range of engineering, science, environmental studies, business studies, and art and design.

The extant law establishing it assigned to the institution the task of producing well-trained and highly skilled middle-level manpower for the national economy in the areas of engineering, applied sciences and technology, environmental studies, management studies, and art and industrial design.

In 1994, the Federal Government took over the polytechnic from the Edo State Government.
