The University of Abuja

This is a tertiary institution in the Nigerian capital, Abuja. And it was established on January 1, 1988. This was under Decree No. 110 of 1992 as amended.

And it was a dual-mode university with the mandate to run conventional and distance learning programs.

Academic work began in the University in 1990 with the matriculation of its pioneer students.

However, the University took off from a temporary site, made up of three blocks of building meant for a primary school in Gwagwalada, tagged the “mini-campus”.

Academic activities started on the mini-campus in 1990. But in the same year, the University was allocated an expanse of land covering over 11,800 hectares along the Abuja city centre – Gwagwalada road for the development of its main campus.

The necessity of the University of Abuja Portal

The Authority of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has enabled the student portal. And this online portal is created for formal and prospective students of the University.

Also, it is to create an account or log in to perform certain academic actions at ease. Example:

1. Course registration and fee payment.

2. Also, to check result, view the admission list/status and pay for acceptance fees.

3. Additionally, it is to process transcript and view the academic calendar.

4. Furthermore, it is deferment of admission, etc.

University of Abuja 2025/2026 Session Pre Admission Screening Registration Procedure

Please follow these steps to register:

1. Visit https://portal.uniabuja.edu.ng and click on “Click here to apply”

2. Also, click the Undergraduate link on the left pane.

3. Furthermore, enter your JAMB Registration Number and Click on “Get details”

4. Additionally, complete the basic information page (Please note: Enter the only valid phone number and email address and click next.

5. Additionally, on the payment review page, click on “Generate RRR” and this takes you to another page

6. Also, click “Submit” and you will be redirected to remita payment page.

7. Enter ATM card (Mastercard or Visa)number and other details as appropriate and submit

8. Also, enter “OTP code” sent to your phone and click continue to complete your payment.

9. After a successful payment, click on “Main login” on the portal, enter your Jamb registration number and Surname as a password

10. Click on “Login to dashboard” and complete your registration.

11. Also, ensure you print the completed registration form, payment receipt, and exam schedule

UNIABUJA Center for Postgraduate Application Procedure

1. Visit https://portal.uniabuja.edu.ng

2. Click on “Click here to apply”

3. On the left pane, click on Postgraduate

4. Also, enter the requested details (surname, first name, other names, email, and phone number) and click Next

5. Additionally, on the payment preview page, click on Generate RRR

6. Additionally, click make payment and you will be redirected to remita platform, enter your card details (Master Card or Visa Card)

7. Also, after a successful payment, you will be redirected back to the portal and application number generated and you will be logout out.

8. Furthermore, click on “Main Login“, enter the generated application number and surname as a password to continue the application process

UNIABUJA Center for Distance Learning Application Procedure

1. Visit https://portal.uniabuja.edu.ng

2. Click on “Click here to apply”

3. Also, on the left pane, click on Distance Learning

4. Additionally, enter the requested details (surname, first name, other names, email, and phone number) and click Next

5. Furthermore, on the payment preview page, click on Generate RRR

6. Additionally, click make payment and you will be redirected to remita platform, enter your card details (Master Card or Visa Card)

7. Also, after a successful payment, you will be redirected back to the portal and application number generated and you will be logout out.

8. Click on “Main Login“, enter the generated application number and surname as a password to continue the application process
