1. University of Copenhagen

For this current QS World University Rankings the University of Copenhagen is the best-ranked college or university in Denmark.

It doesn’t stop there as the University of Copenhagen is also the best-ranked college or university of all the Scandinavian countries. On the official QS World University Rankings for this year, it is ranked number 79.

The University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479 and Denmark’s oldest institution of learning and also second on the list of the oldest Scandinavian institutions of learning, which comes after Uppsala University in Sweden.

The college has over 38,500 students enrolled and studying on its campus.

Of the total number of students enrolled and studying on the campus, 3,500 are international students and the students are spread over four campuses and of the campuses are in Copenhagen which is Denmark’s capital.

2. Technical University of Denmark

The Technical University of Denmark is the first polytechnic in Denmark and it was established in 1829 by popular physicist and chemist of Danish nationality, Hans Christian Ørsted.

Over the years, the school has become one of Europe’s top engineering schools.

On the official QS World University Rankings for this year, it is ranked number 112. The college has overclose to the Denmark capital city, Copenhagen.

The college has official colours which are grey and red, with very famous sporting teams which are the rugby and volleyball teams.

3. Aarhus University

Aarhaus University is the third highest-ranked university in Denmark and on the official QS World University Rankings for this year, it is ranked number 141.

Though the University of Copenhagen is older than it, the Aarhaus University is Denmark’s second oldest non-technical higher education institution.

The school was established in 1928 and has since become Denmark’s largest college with over 39,000 students studying a different array of courses.

Amongst the famous people to have graduated from the Aarhus University is Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II who studied political science in the college back in the 1960s.

4. Aalborg University

Aalborg University is the fourth highest ranked university in Denmark and on the official QS World University Rankings for this year, it is ranked number 343.

The college was founded in 1974 and it is home to about 20,700 students from across different countries in the world.

Aalborg University has 3 campuses which are in the cities of Aalborg, Esbjerg and Copenhagen. The college also has 4 faculties which are Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering and Science and Medicine.

Aalborg University is a top destination for international students and more the 15% of the total number of students enrolls to study in the college are foreign students from outside of Denmark.

5. University of Southern Denmark

The University of Southern Denmark is the fifth highest ranked university in Denmark and on the official QS World University Rankings for this year, it is ranked number 376.

The college was founded in 1998 and it is home to about 32,000 students from across different countries in the world.

The University of Southern Denmark was formed when the following institutions were merged: Odense University, Southern Denmark School of Business and Engineering and South Jutland University Center.

6. Copenhagen Business School

Copenhagen Business School was founded in 1917 and it is one of Europe’s largest business schools and number one out of such universities in Denmark.

The school has about 20,000 students enrolled with about 1,500 workers on its workforce. It is located in Frederiksberg, Denmark.

The Copenhagen Business School is a government-financed private college with the government taking care of most of its funding.  

It is focused on research and research-based education and there are lots of investments in research ventures. It has gotten about 5 European Research Council Grants.

7. Roskilde University

Roskilde University is a member of the Magna Charta Universatum and was founded in 1972 and located in Roskilde University.

The Magna Charta Universatum is an agreement with which signatures of 388 rectors and Vice Chancellors appended their signatures to form colleges on around Europe on the 18^th of September, 1988.

8. Aarhus School of Architecture

Aarhus School of Architecture is an autonomous college under the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science

They have 3 basic approaches to architecture which are artistic, scientific and project-based approach. It was founded in 1965.

9. Dania Academy University of Applied Sciences

They established Dania Academy University of Applied Sciences in 1989 and is in Randers, Denmark with over 2,500 full-time students with 300 being international students.

10. IT University of Copenhagen

IT University of Copenhagen was founded in 1999 and it is in Copenhagen, Denmark. They focused it on IT research and education.
